How I Get Motivated On Down Days

I used to find it super hard to get out of bed, and that wasn’t just because I had a super hangover most days. I’ve cut out the social drinking and started trying to do more with my life and look after myself. Some days though its hard to get motivated and get up and do the things you need to do and have a productive day. So here’s my tips on how I get motivated on off days.

First things first, its all about getting up when your alarm goes off. I can spend up to an hour browsing social media in bed and it makes me sluggish for the rest of the day, I’ve started limiting myself to 10 minutes.

What you eat first thing in the morning really does effect how your body acts for the rest of the day. The brain tells us what hormones we need to break down what food we eat, so eating a heavy gluten breakfast will make you feel sluggish for the rest of the day. I tend to eat eggs which are high in protein, this makes me more energetic and sets my body up for breaking down fat throughout the day, win win.

I find nothing more demotivating than having a million tasks to do, at this point I crawl back into bed and procrastinate. To avoid this, I like to create a to do list, I start off with the small things and go from there. Then I can get through the day checking off what I’ve done and I know where I’m up to.

I hate it when negative thoughts get me down and then slow me down. Its always good to try and overcome these with positive ones. Speak to friends and family, they are your cheerleaders and you need them even if you think you don’t. There’s nothing more relieving than letting everything out. Venting is good for the soul.

When ever I need some inspiration I always look at what other people are doing, I look at other blogs and Instagram’s. I look at how successful they have become and in turn I become inspired to do more and do better. Also having a good nosey what other people have been up to is a fave hobby of mine.

When you feel like your stuck in a rut, look at how far you have already come and what you have already achieved, Rome wasn’t built in a day and all that. I look at what I’ve done in such a small amount of time and realise that my expectations are way to high and I can’t pull miracles out of no where but I can still dream. And don’t try and change everything at once, baby steps ladies, baby steps

So try out some of these steps and see if you become more productive. I know its helped me.
